Description

This position is in the Department of Psychiatry, a part of the Neuroscience Institute, and performs full time nursing duties for the clinics of Adult, Child and Adolescent and Medicine Psychiatry along with phone nursing responsibilities.

Examples of Duties

DIRECT CLINICAL 75%
•    Demonstrates high degree of competence in the practice of nursing skills pertaining to the clinical department including triaging and prioritizing of patient calls concerning medication, crisis, and labs ensuring all concerns are followed up on in a timely manner.
•    Works diligently with physicians, therapists, reception staff, and other nursing staff to provide quality patient care with regards to new and follow-up appointments, medication refills, triaging patient calls, and coordination of patient care.
•    Keeps necessary records relating to Controlled Substance Procedures.
•    Assists in the patient intake process as needed.
•    Works diligently with reception staff to provide quality patient care with regards to new and follow up appointments, medicine refills, and triaging patient calls.
•    Assists in the treatment of the specialty clinics which include Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
(TMS), Intranasal Esketamine (ESK), Vegas Nerve Stimulator (VNS) and medication injections as needed.

OTHER CLINICAL DUTIES 25%
•    Assists in maintaining adequate inventory of clinical supplies.
•    Inspects physical facilities for orderliness, cleanliness, and safety.
•    Quality Assurance Quarterly Reviews as needed, providing input regarding the role of nursing in the outpatient clinic.
•    Works with medical assistant and other nursing staff to assist in training and coordination of patient care.
•    Oversees the medical assistant when assisted with vitals, coordinates work efforts.
•    Demonstrates willingness to train and cover other areas in department as needed.
